To this day I remember the time after I graduated from college as one of the most difficult times of my life.
As a senior in college, I was absolutely certain that I was going to set the world on fire. I graduated with honors, I received the first “Sociology Student of the Year” Award, I ran a large student advising program for the School of Behavioral Sciences, I was captain of the women’s volleyball team and then…I was nothing and no one in a work world I didn’t understand nor know how to navigate.
What was worse was that I no longer had my friends and social life and I was in debt up to my… well, you get the picture. I had no idea what I wanted to do or how to get a job. I was confused, disillusioned and scared to death. And so was everyone else I knew.
I don’t want it to be that way for you.
- I want you to be competent in personal brand development, advanced research skills, game changing question development, business and financial fluency, interviewing, salary negotiation and the development of your career launch on-boarding plan. I want you to understand yourself, your ambitions and your talents so that you can find a job and career that matches who you are and your unique strengths.
- I want you to feel confident and prepared to create and navigate the next phase of your life just as successfully as you have up to this point. Yes, it’s different. There are new rules of the game, new players, new strategies and new expectations.
- This is not an easy time to be entering the job market, so in addition to being competent and confident, I want you to build your capacity to stay focused on your dreams and on how you want to contribute to the world. I want you to be resilient and tenacious and have an unending faith in yourself. I want you to launch your career with a deep sense of who you are so that you work and live in integrity, no matter what challenges present themselves to you.
I want you to be wildly successful and I want to be the coach that helps you get there.
